Only LAN Extensions (No Extensions are Outside LAN)
Just change the IP address to a valid IP in the network and you are done
System with outside extensions using Static IP
Change the IP address to a valid IP in your LAN network.(eg – 192.168.1.99 which is a valid IP for your LAN network so that local extensions can work on your LAN not via static IP)
Put the Com1 IP PBX behind a router with port forwarding facility.
Step1 : Configuring the router to be a part of your LAN network:
Allot a valid IP to the router and configure the router to work in your network.(eg – 192.168.1.4 which is a valid IP for your LAN network so that local extensions can work on your LAN not via static IP)
Configure the Static IP with all credentials on to the router(eg – 122.165.81.92)
Step 2 : Forwarding the necessary ports to Com1 PBX
Go to Port forwarding option and just open the following ports as shown in the diagram
Note : Keeping the network secure is customer’s scope and we have just tried to explain one way of achieving that. However we reiterate that this is not the only way to achieve a reasonably secure network.
